No Antibiotics and No Surgery Needed

Challenge: Ear Infections
When Charlie’s mom bought him into our office, he had been experiencing 6 straight months of ear infections. His mom reflected back on that time and stated, “It felt like we were going to be stuck on the antibiotics train until tubes. Miserable!” It wasn’t just miserable to Charlie but also his parents. They felt like they were trying everything and they just couldn’t stop the constant cycle of ear infections.
When they came to Crossroads Chiropractic - they were cautiously optimistic but ready to try anything that may help their son.
We asked Charlie’s mom to reflect back on her thoughts of his first assessments. She let us know, “Honestly? I thought it was no wonder he was having such a hard time! They were rough!”
After starting chiropractic care, Charlie went from having consistent ear infections for the last 6 months to having 1 ear infection during his entire first 12 weeks of care. When Charlie had that lone ear infection, his mom was ready to call it quits and schedule his surgery for tubes. We asked her about this episode and she let us know, “Truth be told, when my son got that one ear infection during our first 12 weeks of care, I was ready to just call it quits and get him tubes. Dr. Kent got on the phone with me and made me feel heard, and talked me off the proverbial ledge. I’m certain my son would have ended up with tubes and that would not have been the solution, along with missing the other helpful things chiropractic care has done for him!” She also commented, “Not only do we receive above and beyond care, we also receive it from some of the most compassionate and caring people, ever!”
We couldn’t wrap up this post without also commenting on the other positive changes Charlie has seen while being under chiropractic care. His mom stated that he started sleeping better, his temper tantrums slowed, and he became a better eater. Prior to chiropractic care, Charlie was a pretty picky eater. He refused to eat any meat/protein due to the texture. We will never forget the day when Charlie’s mom let us know that Charlie ate his first chicken nuggets and enjoyed them! She couldn’t have been more proud to see her child eating a wider variety of food.
