No More Torticollis

Story of Hope for Mary Ann

Challenge: Torticollis, Colic, Nursing Difficulties, Plagiocephaly

Her parents first noticed she had difficulty turning her head at 4 weeks and the pediatrician noticed a head tilt during her 8 week check up. This caused Mary Ann to have difficulties nursing on the right side. Outside of the torticollis, mom had also noticed that Mary Ann was developing a flat spot on her head (the beginning of plagiocephaly). Flattening of the head is not uncommon for a baby that struggles with torticollis. The ability to move the head freely is important for cranial bone development. At 2 months old, Mary Ann’s mom decided to try adding in chiropractic care to help her daughter find relief but also to function better.

Mary Ann’s Initial assessment

Mary Ann’s Progress Assessment

After consistent care at Crossroads Chiropractic, as well as physical therapy, Mary Ann’s torticollis has completely resolved. Once her body was responding well to her adjustments, we were able to work on the cranial sutures to aid in the healing process. Throughout the course of care, the flat spot she was developing has also completely resolved. Mary Ann is now a thriving baby that is on track for all of her milestones! Mom could not be more excited!
