Is The Roof Leaking?
/Over time, pretty much everything deteriorates if not correctly cared for. The human body is no exception. The brain is wired to breakdown and atrophy parts of the body that it is no longer using to survive. If we do not take the time to ensure that we are healthy and functioning optimally, we will find ourselves experiencing signs of aging and poor health much sooner than we should.
In a house with multiple levels and many rooms, sometimes we give our attention to certain areas more than others. There are even moments where we run out of space and decide to make some modifications by adding on a section or remodeling a room. The human body is designed to adapt to all of the stresses of life, but if we are not careful there are times where we are headed down a modification that we were not expecting. The status quo in society is lead by western medicine where surgery is the recommendation by medical professionals. This is a reactive approach toward health.
It’s obvious to us that putting a tarp over a hole in the roof is only a temporary fix. Calling a plumber, replacing a wall, tearing out the carpet are also examples of things we try to do to cover up something. All of these are a reaction to the leak already happening and creating damage to the structure and the look of the house.
Just because the roof leaks only after it rains, doesn’t mean we wait until it gets bad enough or that it will eventually stop leaking. Typically, people think that it is much cheaper to just clean up the mess than it would be to fix the roof but that is a misconception. 10 years from now the roof will be in far worse condition than it is today and will require much more time, money, energy, and effort to fix.
From the Chiropractic philosophy, we encourage every person to think about things proactively, especially when it comes to their health. Chiropractic care can repair problems but it works best in prevention and preparation. Chiropractic focuses on the function of the nervous system, which controls and coordinates every other system in the body.
HOW CAN CHIROPRACTIC HELP?
One of the reasons, the human body begins to deteriorate is because the nervous system feels unstable to perform the motions that we require for our lifestyle. This in turn requires the brain to make some modifications in order to feel more stable and ultimately survive.
This happens because the brain and nervous system are stuck in stress mode. Chiropractors call this stuck stress a subluxation. This neurological interference which is sending inaccurate signals to the brain from the body is leading us down a path society thinks is normal, but in reality is just common based on the reactive approach most people are used to following.
Regular chiropractic care has shown results of slowing down this modification process by removing the stuck stress.
